If necessary, they will clear secretions from his nose and mouth.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you and he are doing well, he will stay on your chest in skin-to-skin contact. Ideally, your baby will remain there without any separation for at least two hours. Under a warm blanket, you can embrace your baby. It&#8217;s time now to get to know him. You discover his face, his little fists and feet, and you meet his gaze.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the transition to life outside the womb is done very gently, as this contact helps to maintain your baby&#8217;s body heat and normalize his breathing rate and heartbeats.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, skin-to-skin contact provides your newborn with comfort and facilitates breastfeeding. There will come a time when your baby instinctively seeks breastfeeding for nourishment and reassurance. Healthcare providers who assist you during delivery can help you position your baby on the breast.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your condition does not allow this, skin-to-skin care can be done with the father or any other significant person. If skin-to-skin contact is not possible immediately, you can do it later, and your baby will be fine as well.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your baby finds warmth in your body, or discovers the warmth of his father&#8217;s arms or any other significant person.
